Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Event for Holiday Season

In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A strange encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Changes

The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
